Madrid Nightlife Guide for Visitors: Where to Go & How to Book (2026)

Madrid is one of Europe's great nightlife cities, but it runs on its own clock — and if you don't know the timing, the dress code and how tables work, a great night can turn into an hour in a queue. This is the short version, written for visitors, plus the four clubs we book directly.

The timing: Madrid starts late

Dinner is at 9–10pm, bars fill after midnight, and clubs don't get going until around 1am — they run until 6am or later. Don't arrive at a club at 11pm expecting a full floor. The best premium nights in the centre are Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Dress code and getting in

Central Madrid clubs run smart casual doors — no trainers, sportswear, ripped jeans or caps. Groups without a booking can wait, and doors can turn people away when it's full. The reliable way in is a table booked in advance: priority entry for the whole group, no queue.

How VIP tables work

Most Madrid clubs work on a minimum spend, not a fixed cover: the amount converts into bottles and mixers for your table, and it includes the seat, a host and skip-the-queue entry. Split across a group it's often the best value — and on busy nights it's the only way to be sure you get in.
